陳始明教授與英飛凌的產學合作，在眾多的合作教授中，成果榮獲英飛凌合作夥伴獎。大中華區每年獎勵不到10名教授，2021年總共有7名教授得獎，而陳始明教授是唯一的台灣獲獎者。
陳始明教授在史丹佛大學專家團隊發布的「全球前 2% 頂尖科學家榜單」(World’s Top 2% Scientists)的 22 個科學領域和 176 個子領域的所有科學學科中名列世界前 2% 的科學家。
並且在應用物理學領域也被評為前 1.71% 的科學家。
